Business in Turkey is personal. Although this is changing with the influx of big multi-nationals and a more corporate culture in some of the larger companies, many businesses are still family owned and run.

Middle East Business Tips:
1. Do not eat or drink in front of Muslims during Ramadan. They are fasting. 2. Do not use your left hand; particularly when eating. It is considered unclean in parts of the Middle East. 3. Never cross your legs and display the sole of your foot towards someone. 4. Orthodox Muslims do not eat pork, drink alcohol, or discuss the female members of their family. 5. Friday is the Muslim Holy Day; workweeks may run Saturday through Wednesday. 6. Never interrupt Muslims at prayer, a religious practice they perform five times a day.
